I think Silverjet has the edge with their private terminal at Luton. The way you can check in at their lounge as late as 30 minutes before take-off is amazing and having their own security channel in the lounge is a great idea, especially nowadays with heightened security when even travelling first or business class can involve queuing in so-called fast track. Similar arrangments ar promised in Dubai where they're flying from the executive terminal rather than the main one, i.e. the terminal used by private jet owners rather than the masses.

Having flown both l'avion and Maxjet, what needs to be stressed is how these newer business class airlines crush the estalished players, and that is in their cost. While business class fares from NY-London on the big boys are anywhere from 5-8K, Maxjet/Lavion offer round trip for around $1,500, with Maxjet ofering sales from time to tome of around $1,200. If you are actually paying, do the math and its a no brainer. Yeah, the newer biz only airlines dont have fully flat seats, offer less daily flights, etc, but for 1/3 or 1/4th the price, its not an issue. IMO, Maxjet is superior to Lavion, with larger, more comfortable seats, better lounges, and more frequent cabin food/beverage service, but they dont direcly compete (Maxjet-London, Lavion-Paris only). I have heard great things about Silverjet, but they are several hundred $$ more than Maxjet.

Just arrived off MY0100 from JFK. 2015 scheduled MaxJet departure was delayed until 2345 due to missing Captain who had "commuting issues" as he said and we had to wait for him to fly in from Charlotte NC.

Trip was otherwise good and a sdescribed in you review. The comment I have read elsewhere applies: If you are used to mainstream business class you will be disappointed by MaxJet. But if you are used to economy or premium economy you will be pleased.
